The Pontifical Academy for Life is moving. From 1 March, it will be located in a Vatican building complex in Piazza San Calisto in the Trastevere district of Rome. This was announced by the Academy on Tuesday. Previously, it was located on Via della Conciliazione near the Vatican.

The Pontifical Academy for Life recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Established in 1994 by Pope John Paul II, the institution was originally founded as a kind of Vatican think tank in the fight against abortion, modern reproductive medicine and euthanasia. Since then, under its president Vincenzo Paglia, the Scientists' Forum has broadened its thematic focus and opened up its ideology. For example, it deals with topics such as bioethics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, robotics and cyborgs. (KNA)
