On Wednesday, almost four weeks late, the Pope made up for a meeting with the nurses and doctors at the Gemelli Clinic in Rome who had treated him in February and March. The Vatican's medical staff, who are currently looking after the 88-year-old during his two-month convalescence, were also present.

According to the Vatican, Francis met the 70 or so medical staff in a room next to the large Vatican audience hall. On behalf of the Gemelli Foundation, Daniele Franco, Chairman of the Board of Directors, wished the Pope a speedy and full recovery and a blessed Easter. Francis thanked those present with a few words and encouraged them to continue in their ministry. According to the Vatican, the meeting lasted 20 minutes. (KNA)
